There is no control over the data loss or corruption of hard disk, leading to rising demand of Windows File Recovery software. The file recovery software is a flawless, efficient and prominent tool to recover lost or corrupt data from hard disk and other storage media, such as, PEN drive, ZIP drive etc. The tool even recovers deleted data. The Windows file recovery tool consists of three file modes, which help in recovering all the lost data from storage devices.
Quick Scan
This is the fastest files recovery mode and it enables user to recover recently deleted files and folders. This recovery file mode is also useful when data is lost due to MFT damage, file system(s) corruption, presence of bad sectors on disk and corruption of Index.
Extensive Scan
Although, extensive scan recovery file mode is slower than the Quick Scan mode, but it can recover those files and folders that Quick Scan mode may fail to recover. This mode is preferable when data is lost due to formatting of hard disk, recreation of hard disk partitions and deletion of hard disk partitions.
File Trace
This mode is the slowest amongst all other modes, but is the most efficient file recovery mode. It scans entire hard disk drive sector by sector to extract the maximum data. This mode is generally used when both the modes, i.e. Quick Scan and Extensive Scan modes fail to perform as required. User can even recover the files, which were deleted long back.
Windows file recovery software provides many other supportive options other than scanning modes. Such additional features make this software fast, impeccable and less tiresome. Other embedded options are mentioned below:
Save Recovery Snapshot
The scanning process of Windows partition might consume several hours. The option of Save Recovery Snapshot enables user to save the snapshot of scanned disk. Later, user can load it to Windows Files Recovery software and resume the files recovery process after the scanning is completed. The snapshots are saved in .NKFN file format.
Load Recovery Snapshot
This option helps for further processing by loading the saved .NKFN file to Windows FAT and NTFS.
Find Files
This option searches for specific file or files related to a particular file format type amongst thousands of files recovered in the process performed by the Windows Disk Recovery software.
Settings
It enables user to define settings for the software before files recovery operation starts, for an example number of sectors to read in single attempt, duplicating, or skipping duplicate files, renaming, number of retries on bad sectors, settings for deleted files to include them, exclude them, or to only recover deleted files.
File Filters
Though this option seems like Find Files option, but the difference between them is the Find Files option searches for a specific type of files, like *.xls. However, File Filters option allows you to specify multiple file types, like *.xls, *.docx, *.pdf, etc. The software displays the recovered items based on the file type(s) specified.
Once the software completes scanning process, all the recovered files and folders are displays in a tree like structure. Windows File Recovery software also allows previewing a selected file before saving it on your computer’s hard disk or to the other desired storage media.
Software for Windows File Recovery tool is also available as free version to help you evaluate the software functionalities. The free demo version of Windows Files Recovery software is designed to work as the FULL version, but it is not designed to enable the user to save recovered data. Full version of this deleted file recovery software has to be purchased to save the files recovered.
